Melonie B. Murray's choreographic work spans genres ranging from contemporary and classical ballet to musical theatre, and her creations have been peer-reviewed/adjudicated and selected for performance by organizations such as the American College Dance Association, the World Dance Alliance - Americas, and the Aspen Dance Connection's Colorado Choreographer Showcase.

a subtle coercion of liberties (2016)

A contemporary ballet piece inspired the writings of philosopher Michel Foucault, this piece was first performed by students at the University of Utah in 2016, was selected by the University of Utah’s dance faculty to represent the School of Dance at the regional American College Dance Association conference, and was restaged on dancers from Friends University and performed there in 2016. It was also one of only eight pieces selected through a peer-review process for presentation at the World Dance Alliance-Americas Assembly in 2016. Lighting design by Cole Adams; costume design by Steve Rasmussen; music by Arvo Pärt. The University of Utah performance can be viewed here:

NU-TOPIA (2018)

This evening-length multi-media production was inspired by the philosophies and music of John Lennon and the Beatles. A collaborative project spearheaded by Loren Wilder (Wilder Productions), Nu-Topia was performed at the historic Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, CO. Additional choreography was provided by James Wallace and Amy Anderson; scenic elements, lighting design, and costume design by Loren Wilder; music by John Lennon and the Beatles.

Solace (2012)

This contemporary ballet piece was created on dancers from Friends University, and was performed by students at Colorado Mesa University later that year. Friends University performed this work at the American College Dance Association midwest regional conference in 2012 where it was selected for performance in the gala concert and was named as an alternate for ACDA's Kennedy Center performance. Lighting design by Stan K. Rogers; music by Gabriel Fauré.
